The Muscles Not Motors Story
The “Muscles Not Motors” motto was coined in 1976 by a couple of bicycle racers in a pub in Montpelier, Vermont, who also happened to be the founders of Onion River Sports. As they sold sports gear for aerobic activities like cycling and Nordic skiing, and hosted a slew of community-minded athletic events, they realized it was more than just a motto. Their customers were a committed group of people dedicated to changing their carbon footprint and living healthy active lifestyles, and these energetic, environmentally-minded folks had a need to express their passion for living and for sharing stories.
Muscles Not Motors is an inspirational, aspirational environmental lifestyle brand with a focus on being a good global citizen. Muscles Not Motors pursues personal physical and mental well-being through fitness, healthy living, leadership, active families and contributing to one's community.
